Here we have a 2023 Cartier Santos Dumont Black Lacquer Mechanical WSSA0046, a slimmed-down version of the traditional Cartier Santos named after Alberto Santos-Dumont, a famous Brazilian pilot whose friendship inspired Louis Cartier to create a pilot-friendly wristwatch Cartier Santos, in 1903. Featuring a 31.5mm stainless steel case with glossy black lacquer, slender, gently curved tapered lugs perfectly support the leather strap, and a lug-to-lug length of 43mm and a case thickness of just 7mm ensure a comfortable fit on your wrist. Polished and brushed surfaces transition with crisp lines and are expertly finished with glossy black lacquer. On the right side is a crown with a synthetic blue cabochon inset. The polished steel border features an attractive glossy black lacquer bezel with screw detailing and holds a sapphire crystal above a striking 3D geometric square-patterned glossy black dial, with an outer minute railroad track, surrounding radiating polished Roman numeral indices marking the hours. Elegant steel sword hands sit majestically in the centre. At noon, the Cartier motif completes this sophisticated, mesmerising dress watch. This incredibly thin movement is their version of the Piaget 430P. The watch comes paired with its short 18mm Cartier leather strap and pin buckle.
